The Mynabirds - Buffalo Flower

The Mynabirds knew through the theme - 'Generals' - that we present a few weeks ago. Today, after listening to and reescuchar his second studio album I can say that we are in the best Laura Burhenn has produced to date. With a sleek sound but with different nuances that refer directly to the Caucasian roots rock artist has managed to make a fairly complete album in which we find such brilliant pieces as 'Buffalo Flower'.

This song seems the most logical sequel of the single 'Generals'. With a very direct percussion, and the sinuous voice of Laura, the artist from Washington catches us by the hand and shows us how fragile this duality between the unbreakable and how well defined the sound of this new phase of The Mynabirds. If you are the disks with elegant female vocals and a rhythm section that recalls, at least from afar, the "Metals" Feist, this may be your disk. Pop / rock carat is that a singer has worked that I believe will increasingly over the coming months.

Apart from the studio version I recommend you to take a listen to the interpretation semi acoustic 'Buffalo Flower' that The Mynabirds performed for Soundcheck sessions. Laura's vocal presentation is even more beautiful than the one found in the LP.
